Principle Project Managers in the Transmission Interconnection department own complex electric utility transmission, substation, and distribution projects focused on interconnecting new generation resources to the grid. They are considered industry experts, responsible for managing the scope, schedule, budget and safety performance of multiple projects through the PJM interconnection process, accountable for completing interconnection of resources per the Generation Interconnection Agreement (GIA) contractual timeline. Principal PMs lead project teams through business case / capital approval process, development and execution of project plans and project closeout. These projects have budgets that will typically range from $1 million to $60 million. Also, may manage high profile business initiative projects with direct accountability for project execution. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
