About The Position

We are seeking a Principal Project Manager to join our team in San Francisco, CA to lead and work on various projects. The Principal Project Manager will act as a senior leader providing strategic oversight for CBTC projects and programs, and client accounts. Manages projects of the highest complexity, value, and risk, including alternative delivery models (e.g., Design-Build). Functions as a key business developer and a mentor to Senior PMs, contributing to the company’s project management practices. Your role Manages a portfolio of projects or large-scale mass transit programs, ensuring alignment with client and firm strategic objectives. Principal-in-charge on major projects, ultimate accountability for project success. Leads projects with significant risk, alternative delivery, multiple business units, and complex joint ventures. May serve as Principal-in-Charge on major projects/programs, assisting the BU in a leadership role. Develops and maintains executive-level relationships with key clients. Facilitates “Go/No-Go” decisions on major pursuits. Leads negotiation of master service agreements, complex contracts, and critical change orders, with high-level signatory authority. Final escalation point for resolving high-stakes client, contractual, or performance issues. Actively mentors and develops Senior Project Managers. Contributes to development and implementation of firm-wide project management standards, tools, and best practices. Contributes to strategic planning and business development goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Graduate degree highly desirable.
  • 15+ years of professional experience, including at least 5 years managing complex CBTC projects or programs.
  • PMP certification is required or must be obtained within one year of appointment.
