The Principal Project Manager – Rolling Stock will lead rolling stock engineering consulting teams and business development for relevant consulting services. This role involves providing strategic consultant advice and planning, offering solutions for rail fleet expansion, upgrades, procurement, and new technologies. The manager will monitor the progress of projects and work with clients and stakeholders to resolve critical technical issues. Additionally, they will oversee the management of contract budgets and manage projects up to a contract size of $40 million USD. The position requires providing rolling stock project management and technical expertise to both external and internal clients, maintaining and building client relationships to grow the business, and providing strategic advice and oversight of vehicle procurement and performance improvement projects. Collaboration with other disciplines to ensure rolling stock integration is also a key responsibility. The manager will manage the utilization and professional development of rolling stock staff, assign staff to projects, and coordinate rolling stock staff workloads. The role requires 20% domestic and international travel to visit clients and suppliers, attend conferences, and meet with direct reports. The position is fixed location based in Seattle, WA office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed occasionally.
