About The Position

The Principal Program Manager, IT at McGrath RentCorp is responsible for driving, directing, planning, and executing large-scale initiatives within the company's IT department. This role involves overseeing multiple internal IT and business teams, as well as external vendors, to ensure successful program execution and resource maximization. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • PMI PMP certification required, PgMP preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in IT Program Management or related fields.
  • Experience managing implementations of ERP or large enterprise applications.
  • Extensive experience managing multiple complex projects within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding documentation, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with program and project management software and tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Jira and SmartSheet for project management.
  • Ability to lead through complexity and ambiguity.
  • Flexibility in response to change.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and execute large initiatives in collaboration with business counterparts.
  • Oversee multiple internal IT and business teams and external vendors.
  • Manage program risks, issues, financials, and change management.
  • Tailor senior-level program-related communication to various audiences.
  • Monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance of component projects.
  • Develop and obtain approval for program and project charters.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings and reports.
  • Develop program communication plans and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Support organizational change management and solution adoption.
  • Negotiate and prepare contracts considering financial conditions and requirements.
