Daily tasks include the following: Utilize SAP and SAP/APO to develop near term and long term production plans Utilize SAP/APO to maintain forecast performance Utilize SAP and SAP/APO to maintain proper stock levels in both local and international distribution sites Work with manufacturing to maintain parity between costing and BOM/Routing changes Develop initiatives to improve inventory, scrap and margin performance Work with Product Management to align build schedule with forecast and schedule new product introductions Interact with the sales team to expedite and capitalize on fast moving opportunities Communicate with both domestic and international Customer Service groups to provide timely stocking updates and resolve order specific issues In addition to a firm understanding of fundamental planning concepts the position requires strong analytical and computer skills, including the ability to analyze data and structure reports Additional Responsibilities: Leads CI Projects Mentors / Trains in current or new processes where required May require some travel to other sites Cross training into other areas of planning/procurement Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities of this job at any time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment OR Associate Degree and 10 years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment OR High school diploma or GED and 12 years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment
  • firm understanding of fundamental planning concepts
  • strong analytical and computer skills, including the ability to analyze data and structure reports

Nice To Haves

  • APICS certification or courses
  • 5+ years of experience in a life sciences environment preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret data from ERP system or other data systems.
  • Ability to effectively present information, and respond to inquiries from management, suppliers, customers and the general operations group.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization may exist.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Highly effective time management skills
  • Commitment to customer excellence with demonstrated ethics and integrity
  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of site financials and the impact of planning and procurement on the site P and L
  • Highly skilled in current ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)
  • Highly skilled in the use of excel , creating Pivot tables, graphs for data analysis
  • Highly skilled in the use Word
  • Highly skilled in the creation and presentation of PowerPoint
