About The Position

The Principal Production Planner and Scheduler at Northrop Grumman is responsible for overseeing production activities to ensure business objectives are met. This role involves developing production schedules, coordinating workflows, managing inventory, and communicating updates to management and customers. The position requires on-site work in Northridge, CA, and focuses on supporting the AARGM program while adhering to quality standards and ISO 9001 procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience, or a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 1+ years of experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 quality standards and ESD-safe procedures.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds a few times per shift.
  • Ability to complete walking, standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, twisting, bending, and reaching.

Responsibilities

  • Support production activity and ensure business objectives are met.
  • Control production plans and identify risks.
  • Report to management on production status and prevent shortages and excesses.
  • Handle shipments and maintain quality standards.
  • Develop schedules that show the flow of work through various departments.
  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials according to production schedules.
  • Work with management to plan and manage production tasks.
  • Review production plans to identify and report potential risks.
  • Develop inventory control techniques to avoid shortages and excesses.
  • Assist in processing customer orders and shipments according to the established schedule.
  • Control production costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Review job orders to establish priorities and schedules.
  • Monitor execution of job orders and adjust schedules for timely delivery.
  • Plan and monitor material movement in production cycles.
  • Plan equipment, material, and manpower needs for job orders.
  • Coordinate with management to resolve production planning and control issues.
  • Prepare job order documents and give timely approvals.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to complete job orders on-time and within specifications.
  • Communicate production updates to managers and customers regularly.
