Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Production Planner and Scheduler for our Business Unit, Armament Systems. This position will be in Mesa, AZ supporting the Guns manufacturing site. Armament Systems specializes in the development and production of Ammunition, Guns and Precision Guidance Ordinance.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant work experience in operations and production scheduling OR a master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience in operations and production scheduling OR 9 years of relevant work experience in operations planning and production scheduling.
  • Experience in MS Office Applications.
  • Ability to maintain a security clearance if required.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience planning in an ERP system & familiar with the MRP process.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain clearance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and Explosives as a Responsible Person.

  • Costpoint background.
  • ERP background (SAP or Costpoint experience preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
  • Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
  • Coordinates inter-departmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
