About The Position
Discover Financial Services is seeking a Principal Product Owner who will play a crucial role in defining the product vision and prioritizing initiatives within the product area. This position is integral to ensuring that the product teams deliver maximum value to customers by assessing product performance and shaping the direction of both new and existing product lines. The Principal Product Owner will collaborate with various stakeholders to develop and execute strategic product plans, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives and customer needs. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the product backlog, leading the coordination of product area initiatives, and ensuring that the product features align with compliance and risk management standards. You will also be tasked with monitoring and reporting on impediments that arise during the product lifecycle, facilitating communication across teams, and managing dependencies and risks associated with product initiatives. Your ability to build a culture of accountability and ownership within the product team will be essential for success. The Principal Product Owner will also define and execute strategic product roadmaps, leveraging customer insights and feedback to inform product features and enhancements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop go-to-market strategies and ensure that the product meets the highest quality standards. This position requires a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the ability to interact with stakeholders to align on product vision and roadmap.
