About The Position

The Principal Product Manager for Finance Applications will be a pivotal leader, defining and driving our AI-first strategy for the finance application ecosystem. This forward-thinking role is instrumental in orchestrating Workday's product suite, custom innovations, and third-party technologies to construct a premier, intelligent financial platform. By embedding intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and generative AI into the core of our financial operations, you will unlock unprecedented business value and create truly streamlined user experiences. The Product Manager will be part of Business Technology under Product & Technology, , responsible for defining our product roadmap, designing digital and agentic finance experience leveraging AI , agentic and core technologies .

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, with a significant focus on shipping enterprise-level, technology-powered products in a B2B or SaaS environment.
  • 5+ years of direct experience leading and launching AI/ML-powered products. You have a track record of taking systems from concept to scaled production.
  • 5+ years of ERP implementation domain expertise in core finance and accounting processes (such as Sourcing,Invoicing & Billing ) with best practices and a vision for how AI can fundamentally transform them.
  • Managing a finance roadmap through strategic collaboration with Business stakeholders and Product & Technology (P&T) teams.
  • Consistent record to successfully integrate ERP systems (preferably Workday) with other enterprise applications and data platforms
  • Lead user stories and manage story slotting to ensure alignment with defined sprint cycles and delivery timelines.
  • Shown experience Leading high-performing agile product teams.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate ambiguous business problems into concrete product requirements and technical specifications.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with proven experience communicating complex technical concepts and product strategies to senior executives.
  • Familiarity with AI technology stack, including MLOps, data pipelines, and foundational models (LLMs).

Nice To Haves

  • Workday Financials certification(s) (e.g., FDM, Core Financials, Adaptive Planning) are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • AI-First Product Vision, Strategy and Roadmap: Architect and champion a long-term product roadmap for our Finance Application ecosystem, centered on AI and Machine Learning.
  • Intelligent Product Lifecycle Management: Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for initiatives in finance, from ideation and business case development to defining requirements, and measuring ROI.
  • Team Leadership & AI Culture: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of product managers. Foster an AI-centric approach, encouraging continuous learning, rapid experimentation, and a deep understanding of how to responsibly build and deploy intelligent systems.
  • Executive & Customer Partnership: Serve as the lead advisor to leadership on the art of the possible with AI in Finance. Translate sophisticated financial challenges into solvable problems and articulate a clear vision that secures consensus and drives cross-functional alignment.
  • Influence & Innovation: Partner closely with Workday's product teams to influence the future finance product roadmap. Proactively lead release cycles to not only adopt new features but to be a leading voice in their creation and application.
  • Ecosystem & Vendor Strategy: Evaluate and lead a portfolio of technology partners and vendors, ensuring our ecosystem is composed of best-in-class solutions that align with our strategic goals.
