About The Position

The Azure Managed Redis Product Management team defines the vision, strategy, and execution for Microsoft’s firstparty Redis Enterprise service, delivering a deeply integrated Azure offering that powers high performance caching, vector search, and AI agent memory at cloud scale. The team drives the roadmap, prioritizing enterprise grade capabilities, global availability, and seamless modernization pathways for customers migrating from Azure Cache for Redis. We enable scale through reference architectures, technical deep dives, and partner readiness programs for GSIs and SIs, ensuring AMR becomes the default attach for dataestate modernization and AI workloads. Through close collaboration with Redis Inc., engineering, marketing, and field teams, the PM team aligns messaging, builds joint demos and GTM motions, and leads customer engagements—positioning Azure Managed Redis as a critical foundation for intelligent applications across the Azure ecosystem. As a Principal Product Manager - CoreAI you will deliver meaningful customer impact by providing a faster, more reliable, and lower cost path to modernize cache workloads on a fully managed, enterprise grade Redis Enterprise platform. The PM team accelerates migrations and eliminates blockers—whether region capacity gaps, API readiness issues, or security and networking friction—so customers avoid outages, reduce operational toil, and gain predictable performance at cloud scale. Our work enables customers to build high performance applications and next generation AI scenarios (vector search, semantic caching, agent memory) with dramatically lower latency, improved resiliency, and reduced TCO. As a result, Microsoft customers experience smoother transitions from legacy tiers, faster time to value, deeper integration with Azure services, and the confidence that their mission critical workloads and AI systems will run reliably and efficiently on Azure Managed Redis.

Able to represent the product in executive reviews and customer briefings with professionalism and clarity.
  • Customer focus and data-driven mindset: Track record of engaging with customers to gather insights and of using telemetry/metrics to inform decisions. Deep empathy for developers and IT operators using the platform; able to champion their needs and pain points. Analytical problem-solving skills, with a habit of backing up proposals with data and research.
  • Proven coding/vibe coding experiences to quickly build proof of concepts or demos to accelerate time to market.
  • Domain experience with Redis (open-source or commercial), Azure Cache for Redis, or similar caching and NoSQL technologies. Hands-on knowledge of Redis modules (e.g. RediSearch, RedisJSON, RedisTimeSeries) and their use cases is a plus.
  • Experience with AI/ML workloads or data platforms: Familiarity with machine learning systems, vector databases, or real-time analytics solutions. Understanding how AI applications leverage caching or fast data lookup (for example, using Redis for feature stores, session data, or model inference acceleration).
  • Open source and partnership skills: Previous engagement with open-source communities or external partners in product development. Ability to collaborate in a multi-company context (e.g. working with Redis Inc. product managers and engineers) and harmonize priorities.
  • Skilled at articulating complex technical concepts in plain language. Comfortable presenting to large audiences and writing clear docs/blogs. Enthusiasm for evangelism—able to inspire customers, partners, and internal teams about the product’s vision.

Responsibilities

  • Articulate and drive the vision for Azure Managed Redis – focusing on performance, scalability, and seamless AI integration.
  • Bet boldly on AI patterns (RAG, agent memory, vector indexing, semantic caching); convert signals into roadmap decisions that deliver measurable value—lower latency, reduced token cost, higher relevance—and clearly communicate the strategy to executives, customers, and partners.
  • Drive the roadmap end-to-end—prioritize AI first features (e.g., vector search) while holding the line on reliability, compliance, and security; say no often and ship what matters.
  • Lead GTM through influence—shape AI centric positioning and messaging, unblock execution across Product Marketing and Engineering, and align decisionmakers without waiting for org charts.
  • Cocreate with Engineering (Microsoft & Redis Inc.)—rally cross-org teams to land design choices, accelerate global rollout, and keep velocity high.
  • Build with customers and partners—pressure test AI and caching scenarios, validate fit, and translate feedback into crisp specs and hard decisions.
  • Evangelize with proof—not just talk: demos, field enablement, and stories that make AI performance gains undeniable; raise the bar on a data-obsessed, outcome-driven culture.
  • management team, aligning it with Microsoft’s cloud and AI strategy. Identify emerging trends in AI workloads and distributed caching to inform the product roadmap, ensuring Azure Managed Redis remains the leading platform for low-latency, intelligent data access. Clearly communicate product strategy and value to executives, customers, team members, cross-org partners, creating alignment and enthusiasm across all stakeholders.
  • Roadmap Delivery & Execution: Ensure the delivery and operation of features on the end-to-end roadmap for Azure Managed Redis – from inception to worldwide launch. Prioritize features and improvements that maximize customer impact, such as enhanced performance tiers, new Redis module support, or deeper integration with Azure OpenAI and Azure ML services. Work closely with engineering and program management to plan releases, set targets (OKRs), and ensure high-quality, on-time delivery. Use data and telemetry to track progress and make timely course corrections.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the bridge among Azure engineering (networking, compute, security), the Redis community and Redis Inc., and adjacent product groups (e.g., Azure Cosmos DB, Microsoft Foundry) to deliver cohesive AI ready solutions. Coordinate across Dev, UX, Docs, and Support to ensure SDKs and UX simplify AI integration patterns (RAG, agents, streaming inference) and “just work” for developers.
  • Customer Engagement & Advocacy: Champion the voice of the customer by engaging preview and enterprise users building AI apps at scale. Gather requirements from real-world RAG, retrieval, personalization, and inference pipelines to guide features—e.g., embedding lifecycle management, cache invalidation strategies for evolving models, and policy controls for cost/latency tradeoffs. Translate feedback into specs that delight developers building intelligent experiences
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data and telemetry to inform product decisions. Define key success metrics (availability, latency, adoption, revenue) and track Azure Managed Redis against these. Analyze usage patterns and performance data to detect opportunities – e.g., identifying that customers heavily use a certain Redis module might prompt deeper investments in that area. Use A/B experimentation where possible to test new features or pricing models. Ground all roadmap choices in a balance of customer feedback, quantitative insights, and sound business judgment.
  • Enterprise Readiness & Compliance: Ensure Azure Managed Redis meets Microsoft’s standards for security, compliance, and reliability--including guardrails for AI data (PII handling, encryption, role-based access on embeddings and memories)--from day one. Work with architects and site reliability engineers to achieve 99.999% availability with multi-region replication, robust backup/restore, and automated failover. Guide the team in obtaining required certifications (FedRAMP, HIPAA, etc.) so that the service is broadly usable by enterprise and government customers. Anticipate and mitigate risks around data privacy, capacity, supportability – making Azure Managed Redis a trustworthy foundation for mission-critical workloads.
  • GTM Strategy & Execution: Lead the end-to-end Go-To-Market for Azure Managed Redis—shaping AI-first positioning and messaging (faster retrieval, lower inference cost, higher relevance), enabling the field with proof-point demos (semantic cache hit rates, vector retrieval, agent memory), and partnering with marketing, sales, business planning, and external partners to tailor value for developers, enterprise IT, and AI buyers. Monitor adoption, customer feedback, and competitive signals to iterate campaigns and maximize impact across segments.
  • Mentorship and Culture: Model leadership and a growth mindset on a team that is high agency and outcome driven. Mentor PMs in AI product patterns (RAG architectures, cache policies, evals/telemetry), and foster an inclusive culture where diverse perspectives power faster learning loops and shipping momentum.
