We are looking for a talented Principal Product Designer that enjoys solving complex problems with data-driven solutions. This person will be a core member of our growing design team and aid in creating a class-leading SaaS product with desktop, tablet and mobile touchpoints. In your role as a Principal Product Designer, you will be responsible for identifying, proposing, and leading various projects. Your primary focus will be centered around driving transformation, using design as a strategic tool to refine product strategy decisions, and ensuring that ServiceTitan delivers consistent and compelling user experiences across its product lineup. Since your work will be project-based, you will frequently operate in uncertain terrain, strategically guiding a team's existing knowledge and talent while diplomatically advancing ideas and project plans. Your duties will include effectively managing the complex interplay between business requirements, customer needs, and innovative design concepts. You'll also take on the challenge of independently leading projects, gaining the trust and support of others, and, most importantly, finding inspiration in the intricate details of design and mentoring fellow designers to produce exceptional results. Requirements

  • Experience designing a modern SaaS or enterprise platform or one comparable.
  • Demonstrated portfolio of shipping amazing customer experiences that have made a significant impact on business and customer metrics.
  • A love for solving complex product problems with simple design solutions.
  • Exceptional interaction and visual design skills.
  • Deep organization and execution capabilities, especially in areas of influence and collaboration with multiple stakeholder groups.
  • A passion for solving core product problems while balancing all facets of a user experience, such as strategy and research, information architecture, and interaction design.
  • Experience collaborating with other designers to build a cohesive product.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; you have the ability to help your team and stakeholders understand the 'why' behind your design rationale.
  • Proven ability to hold conversations on design with executives and external industry leaders.
  • Experience in design thinking methodologies to lead teams toward customer centered outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Actively seek out challenging company-wide opportunities and contribute to bringing clarity and insights to these complex issues.
  • Develop deep expertise across the entire platform.
  • Take responsibility for specific design-driven projects that you proactively pursue.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Design to identify areas of work where your guidance and expertise are essential for achieving customer-focused success.
  • Work with Product owners and developers to create clear and compelling interfaces which meet the requirements of the user story.
  • Quickly prototype solutions to visual and interaction problems, create and 'sell' North Star Projects.
  • Understand the users deeply across different segments through research, user insights and lead product design to drive measurable outcomes.
  • Validate product ideas through experimental design and research approaches.
  • Help your teams and the entire company develop empathy for our users and advocate for our users’ needs.
  • Innovate and establish enduring, replicable patterns and systems that set new benchmarks for interaction within the company.
  • Collaborate with the entire design organization to ensure that the quality of craftsmanship and our design methodologies meet the high standards expected by our business and customers.
  • Work closely alongside the VP of Design and the Design Leadership Team to execute and shape the continuous development of the Design strategy.
  • Influence the Product strategies across our company in the process.
  • Collaborate closely with the R&D Leadership Team and General Managers (GMs).
  • Be the champion of new and up and coming design, innovation and interactive trends.
  • Help choose new tools and processes for the team.
  • Be an active mentor for designers, helping them build context, strong decision-making skills, and empathy for our users by providing feedback to help strengthen the team.
  • Collaborate throughout the ServiceTitan organizational structure, bringing focus to key customer journeys across our lines of business.
  • Uphold exceptional craftsmanship in Product Design across the entire organization.
