Our Mechanical Commodity Department within the Supply Change Management organization has an opportunity for an experienced supply chain professional who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment. In this role you will support the Mechanical Department by fostering relationships with internal functions and suppliers in a manner consistent with integrated supply chain models, recognizing the role and value of each participant throughout the acquisition life cycle from requirements generation through product delivery, product support, and payment for products and services. You will engage in supplier performance, relationship management, and strategic sourcing activities as well as facilitate complex business agreements in support of various defense contracts.

Requirements

  • Typically requires Bachelor's degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and 3 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or Masters' degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field
  • SAP based environment experience
  • Experience with technical requirements of mechanical products
  • Familiarity with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Demonstrated knowledge / compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS)
  • Experience in written contractual authorization/vehicles (Cost Plus, Firm Fixed Price etc.)
  • Assess proposal compliance (FAR 15.4)
  • Experience with single source, over-TINA procurements

Responsibilities

  • Place subcontracts/purchase orders of moderate complexity in accordance with all regulatory (FAR/DFAR) and corporate compliance requirements
  • Review drawings, specifications and purchase history to determine sourcing strategy for production hardware and build to print mechanical parts
  • Prepare, issue, and analyze RFQs/RFPs
  • Perform cost/price analysis techniques in support of proposals and purchase orders
  • Develop negotiation strategies and lead formal negotiations (Price, Delivery, Terms & Conditions)
  • Nurture professional business relationships with first tier subcontractors
  • Work closely with the Program and other functional groups (Operations, Quality, Engineering, etc) to achieve objectives including financial goals
  • Develop plans to promote cost reduction initiatives and performance improvements (technical and quality) in support of flawless supplier execution for programs
  • Coordinate meetings between suppliers and internal customers
  • Support occasional program travel needs to visit suppliers as needed
