About The Position
Serves as the specific school’s academic officer, with broad day to day responsibility and accountability for the school’s educational operations. Directly supervise the staff at their assigned campus. Directly responsible for the implementation of curriculum that is vertically and horizontally aligned and that instruction is differentiated to meet the needs of all students. Responsible for ensuring that student learning and experience drive day to day instruction. Responsible for implementing an advanced academic program for all students, incorporating Core Knowledge, in accordance with ACA’s Charter. Provide leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service. Oversee compliance with district policies, success of instructional programs, and operation of all campus activities.
Requirements
- Master’s degree
- Texas principal or other appropriate Texas administrative certificate
- Three years educational leadership experience preferred
- Principal or assistant principal experience preferred
- Administrative experience at the district level may substitute for campus leadership experience
- Three years experience in instructional leadership roles preferred
- Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness
- Ability to manage budget and personnel
- Ability to coordinate campus functions
- Ability to implement policy and procedures
- Ability to interpret data
- Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build relationships with staff, parents, and students
Nice To Haves
- ESL certification preferred
- Certified T-TESS appraiser
- Reading Academy certificate preferred
