We are seeking a physicist with a robust low temperature physics background that is interested in leading a multi-disciplinary team towards technical maturation of advanced MCM architectures. This position requires on site work located at our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) in Linthicum, Maryland OR our Annapolis Junction, Maryland location.

Requirements

  • Multi-disciplinary technical background in superconducting integrated circuit development, cryogenic testing of superconducting circuits, etc.
  • Experience with low-noise DC, RF, and digital measurements in a cryogenic test environment or with superconducting circuit design.
  • Systems thinking approach to solving technical problems.
  • Ownership mindset and excellent leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate in a group setting as well as work independently.
  • Commitment to clear technical writing and a willingness to formally document project results.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in experimental physics, electrical engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge of mixed-signal superconducting electronics, low-temperature physics, and RF network response measurements and analysis.
  • Experience in advanced data analysis techniques including statistical inferencing and Bayesian methods.
  • Track record of successfully leading multi-disciplinary technical teams to achieve complex objectives.
  • Active U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary technical team of engineers and physicists to develop novel MCM prototypes.
  • Accountable to all program deliverables for any MCM technical maturation work scope.
  • Collaborate with multiple technical teams across the MDA business area to achieve all relevant goals.
  • Synthesize high-level technical details, generate content, and present results to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop system requirements by leading novel trade studies and interfacing with business area systems engineering expertise.
  • Generate advanced physical models and test plans for technical maturation milestones.
  • Develop and drive technical schedules and roadmaps.
