About The Position

Principal of Technology (Hybrid - Columbia, SC) The Principal of Technology recognized expert in a particular product or system, developing new applications or modifying existing systems in the Bank or Associations. May also configure, implement, maintain, and upgrade ERP applications modules. Works with associations to leverage the AgFirst technical platform to build business solutions that automate and simplify association business processes. Champions technology trends and development best practices, sustainable frameworks, high-performance, and scalable solutions. What you’ll do Collaborate with Product Owners and Key Stakeholders: Engage with stakeholders in Project Management, TSO, Application Architect, Business, and Tech Lead to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of high-quality software projects and production support. Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with business leaders to understand organizational goals and develop IT strategies that support these objectives. Cloud Transformation: Lead the design and implementation of cloud-based solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-efficiency. Architecture Development: Create and maintain enterprise architecture models that integrate business processes with IT systems. Documentation and Artifacts: Create essential project artifacts, including Software Architecture documentation, Technical Use Cases, and Code Review Packages. Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with all levels of Bank and association management to understand business needs. Collaborate with technology vendors and internal teams to influence solution design, ensuring adherence to Bank and industry standards. Technical Support: Deliver timely and accurate corrective actions and technical support for production support matters related to assigned applications. Representation and Relationship Building: Represent AgFirst positively, enhancing the perception of AgFirst technical platforms within district associations. Foster strong relationships between AgFirst teams and association stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of programming or technical domain experience.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
  • Ability to analyze complex systems and develop strategic solutions.
  • Experience with risk management and compliance.
  • Strong leadership abilities and mentoring skills.
  • Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in order to respond to support production software system
