About The Position

As a Principal Nexus Architect, you will play a pivotal role in stabilizing, modernizing, and re-architecting the Nexus platform. You will ensure that all product artifacts are secure, reliable, and readily accessible, enabling seamless deployment into highly regulated production environments. This role requires deep technical expertise, architectural leadership, and close collaboration with engineering, security, and platform teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture
  • 5+ years of hands-on automation experience using Terraform
  • 5+ years of experience in large-scale IT system development, design, and implementation
  • 5+ years of experience in solution design
  • 5+ years of experience with various database technologies such as Oracle, DB2, and SQL-based platforms
  • 5+ years of experience with deploying vendor applications in AWS
  • 4+ years of experience working with Spring and microservices-based architectures
  • 8+ years of an equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience

Responsibilities

  • Architect, deploy, and operate Sonatype Nexus Repository and Nexus Lifecycle solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, and ALB
  • Design and maintain secure, highly available, and scalable Nexus platforms aligned with the AWS Well-Architected Framework
  • Integrate Nexus with AWS-based and third-party CI/CD pipelines, including CodePipeline, CodeBuild, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions
  • Implement and enforce artifact governance, vulnerability management, and software supply chain security best practices across cloud-native environments
  • Lead platform stabilization, modernization, and cloud migration initiatives, ensuring high reliability and performance
  • Drive automation using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Serve as a technical authority and mentor, providing guidance on DevSecOps practices, repository management, and secure software delivery
  • Partner with application, security, and infrastructure teams to define standards, solve complex platform issues, and continuously improve developer experience
