We are currently seeking a Principal Naval Architect reporting directly to the Delivery Manager, to join our team based in Houston, Texas.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Ocean Engineering / Naval Architecture or higher with 12 years of Industry Experience.
  • Expertise in the areas of hydrodynamics, stability, mooring systems of offshore floating structures.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Candidate should have strong problem-solving abilities to come up with creative solutions.
  • Good understanding of offshore floating production units such as Spars, TLPs, Semi Submersibles, FPSOs, FLNGs etc.
  • Project experiences of offshore platform installation.
  • Semi global performance and mooring analysis experiences.
  • Experience in Offshore projects, including new builds/life extensions / other brownfield projects such as relocations/decommissioning projects.
  • Expertise in Hydrodynamic software tools e.g., MOSES, WAMIT and Orcaflex.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Develop hydrodynamic models and perform global motion calculations.
  • Prepare load cases and perform stability assessments of floating offshore structures using appropriate software according to regulatory design codes.
  • Perform global loads and hydrodynamic load mapping analysis.
  • Design and analysis of mooring systems including equipment sizing and specification.
  • Write technical reports summarizing the analysis results and conclusions in accordance with department work instructions and procedures.
  • Support and engage in the design and analysis of mooring systems.
  • Review of mooring design reports and mooring vendor documents in life extension projects and other brownfield studies.
  • Produce technical reports related to mooring discipline.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary study/project environment where communication with other discipline engineers and organizational management is key to the success of the projects.
  • Assist/supervise all technical and operational aspects of the project.
