About The Position

Coupang Ads drives the advertising business within Coupang and plays a key role in Coupang’s profitability. It is one of the fastest growing groups in Coupang. We are innovating new ads products and features to sustain the hyper growth of the business for the coming years. We are looking for an experienced and passionate engineer leader that can drive the rapid innovation for our new product ads offering and make significant impact through start-up sized teams. The position will report directly to the VP of Engineering, Offsite Ads. The person will have much autonomy to explore various areas and discover the next big innovations. The desired candidate can dive deep into the business and the systems, identify the opportunities, think systematically about the solutions, and drive their execution. The person can be a role model of delivering results with grit and demanding excellence. The person can work effectively with leaders of individual teams and align technical directions with key stakeholders.

Requirements

10+ years of industry experience on technology companies.
Have a broad and deep understanding on key technologies including storage, data processing, Machine Learning infrastructure, search, and serving.
Solid track record of delivering large and complex systems with big business impacts.
Strong design and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communications and collaborations across teams and across functionalities.

Experience with Applied Machine Learning products, e.g. Search, Recommendation, and Ads systems

Responsibilities

Drive new Ads product initiatives, leading distributed global teams, to accelerate the business growth
Oversee the ads technologies and systems and evolve the architecture to accelerate execution and improve the reliability
Have strong execution with the ability to drive key developments and overcome technical blockers
Ensure solid system designs and operational excellence
Be metrics driven and can identify big opportunities
Build strong collaborations with partner teams
Attract, develop and retain world-class talent
