About The Position

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer in the Westinghouse Parts Business, you will work in our New Stanton facility to support the WPB Procurement (Parts) Engineering team. The New Stanton site works on projects to enhance plant safety and reliability by providing the instrumentation and control, pumps and motors, and electro-mechanical products and services that our customers require. You will support RCP parts/products for operating nuclear plants. This is a mobile role that is expected on site in New Stanton at least 2-3 days per week.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • 7+ Years' experience required, 15+ years of experience preferred.
  • Design experience with pump seal/sealing systems.
  • Experience with seal testing/test setup design and qualification.
  • Experience with data analysis from seal testing programs.
  • Experience with nuclear plant qualification programs for SSCs.
  • Experience with writing technical requirements/specifications for the procurement of equipment.
  • Experience with Nuclear/main coolant pump equipment highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a responsible engineer for pump sealing systems used in nuclear power plant applications.
  • Design, test and oversee manufacturing of pump seals/sealing systems used in harsh applications found within nuclear power plants.
  • Prepare and review technical packages including drawings, specifications, and procurement requirements for various pump products.
  • Work as part of a cross-functional team including quality engineering, supply chain management, marketing, customer service, and the supplier base.
  • Lead R&D efforts for pump seal product design changes and enhancements.
  • Support pump seal forensic analysis activities and prepare/review engineering reports detailing results and recommendations.
  • Provide technical input to customer proposals.
  • Provide engineering consultation to product management, manufacturing and operations for pump/pump seal products.
