The Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) Directorate is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing test solutions for all Raytheon products. We are hands-on, designing with the latest technology and tools, and integrate state of the art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world. TEE products are located in engineering labs, in the field, and in production environments utilized for weapon system product verification, qualification, test data analysis, and production test solution development. TEE offers job opportunities across all phases of the engineering lifecycle, including demonstrations, early engineering tests, design verification tests, production, and sustainment. TEE is looking for an onsite Principal Test Equipment Mechanical Engineer in Tewksbury/Andover, MA to be responsible for designing, developing, documenting, and maintaining complex test environment systems for all Raytheon products.

  • Research, plan, design and develop mechanical test systems in areas to include: vibration, thermal, hydraulic, radio frequency, and electro-optical for production testing environments
  • Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements
  • Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions
  • Support onsite manufacturing builds
  • Troubleshoot mechanical fixtures and provide root cause corrective action analysis
  • Management and release of technical data packages
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, or STEM
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
  • Experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools with an emphasis on ProE/CREO Parametric
  • US Citizen - Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal analysis, structural analysis, control systems, electrical hardware design, or large assembly development
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T)
  • Experience with mechanical cable harness design
  • Experiencing performing tolerance stack-up analysis
  • Experience with Structural/Thermal analysis tools with an emphasis on ANSYS
  • Experience with Configuration Management processes, application, and tools (e.g., Windchill / cPDM)
  • Experience with environmental stress screening of hardware (e.g., vibration, shock, thermal, etc.)
