About The Position

Principal Marketing Associate - Card SEO (Hybrid) Capital One is seeking a Principal Marketing Associate to join the Performance Marketing and Analytics Card SEO team. This associate will play a critical role in our growth strategy, focused on acquiring new customers via SEO, and will partner regularly with other channels across PM&A, external agencies, stakeholders across Product and Tech, and more. This role requires a deep understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and Technical SEO (tSEO), with the ability to provide strategic and technical POVs that contribute to Card SEO growth. The Principal Associate will be responsible for increasing overall account growth across both Discover and Capital One Card SEO programs. Associate is responsible for supporting the strategy for Discover Organic and Card Smarts blog, supporting the development of a new SEO operating model between Discover and Capital One, refining and optimizing the content publishing model, determining technical site improvements to increase account growth, and defining the SEO testing framework with a focus on GEO. The Principal Associate should have experience in performance marketing either at an agency or in house, be proactive with great project management skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in SEO
  • At least 2 years of experience in web analytics or keyword planning tools
  • Proficient in tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, and Profound.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of experience in financial services or highly-regulated marketing
  • At least 4 years of digital or marketing work experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in SEO
  • At least 3 years of experience in web analytics and SEO tools (Google Search Console, Ahrefs)
  • Experience with other web based tools such as Tableau, MarketMuse, and Screaming Frog

Responsibilities

  • Incorporate SEO best practices into new and existing content to improve organic rankings, traffic, and new customer acquisitions
  • Provide SEO driven POVs based off marketplace, traditional SERP and GEO (includes performance analysis, competitive analysis, technical audits, etc.) to identify relevant trends and patterns to inform roadmap, growth opportunities, and technical improvements
  • Review performance metrics and recommendations to help prioritize growth opportunities
  • Review and provide feedback on SEO performance to highlight business-relevant insights to be shared with key stakeholders
  • Manage content strategy and operating model, including identifying trends and content gaps
  • Flawlessly execute a well-managed governance process to ensure audit readiness for all marketing assets/content
  • Day-to-day management of agency partners; including building and iterating on meeting agendas, compiling takeaways and action items, communicating leadership messages to partners, and handling all scheduling and logistics
  • Demonstrate effective communication with outstanding writing, editing, and presentation abilities
