About the position

Rapiscan, an OSI Systems Company is seeking a Manager, Product Quality Engineering, based out of Billerica, MA. Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
  • Recommends, manages, and leads the implementation of improvements to manufacturing processes, methods, and controls.
  • Manufacturing process development and validation.
  • Troubleshooting and sustaining engineering.
  • Work cell/floor layout definition and creation.
  • Manufacturing launch of new or revised products and their transition into manufacturing.
  • Developing assembly tooling and fixture design and continuous improvement of products and processes with emphasis on overall safety.
  • Collaborates with Engineering, Operations, and Quality departments to identify, alleviate, and ensure timely resolution of production and supply chain related issues.

Requirements

  • BS in engineering discipline (Preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing) with minimum of 12 years' experience.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, including managing teams and projects.
  • Extensive working knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing.
  • Lean Manufacturing or similar continuous improvement / World Class Manufacturing methodology required.
  • Strong project management experience and skills.
  • Experience working in, and leading in a cross-functional environment.
  • Knowledge of MS office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Visio.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks 2D and 3D solid modeling.
  • Proven experience designing manufacturing layouts using AutoCAD or similar software.
  • Must be able to work and communicate effectively across all levels and functions of the organization.
  • Ability to work with little day-to-day direction; must be self-directed and willing to take initiative.
  • Strong communication skills, including excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and to independently accomplish assigned tasks and work with others.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and methodology.
  • High level of attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Sequence Manufacturing Work Instructions.
  • Experience with Agile and Microsoft D365.
  • Knowledge of GD&T.
  • Experience with and/or exposure to ISO 9001 and 14001.
  • Post-graduate courses in Engineering.
