We are currently hiring a Principal Manufacturing Engineer for our Service & Repair Depot at Fridley, MN site. In this role, you will provide engineering support for the service and repair depot team dedicated to the analysis, repair, and replacement of medical devices. It is important that the individual in this role be comfortable reporting out to management and at the same time be willing to work hands-on with the technicians. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Designs service processes, procedures and layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations or specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the WIP plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality, optimize line uptime, and ensure business continuity. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations Skills, Experience, and Behaviors Demonstrated hands-on problem solving and analytical skills Demonstrated LEAN or Six-Sigma fundamentals in a manufacturing or similar setting Experience with electro-mechanical test system troubleshooting, maintenance, and operation. Cross-functional interaction with multiple groups. Interface with Technician, Supervisor, and Management roles. Plan, direct, and actively participate on concurrent projects. Equipment qualification/validation.
