In this function you will: Provide technical design, analysis, and guidance for new product development and product improvements. Make decisions on behalf of Mechanical Engineering for system and component design and responsibilities for guiding and directing applicable IPT technical decisions and accomplishments of objectives. Lead and participate in efforts to solve problems with product design, inspection, manufacturing, and test encountered by vendors, operations, and customers. Plan, organize, control, and lead multiple simultaneous projects. Establish and oversee accomplishment of multiple project objectives. Serve as primary technical contact for multiple teams and liaison between Mechanical Engineering and internal and external customers. Support targets and milestones for project budgets and schedules. Participate in resolving program change of scope issues with Engineering Lead and Program Management. Creates and/or guides the creation of technical documents, including Engineering drawings (following ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.34 standards), test procedures, test reports, and design review material. Present product design and substantiating data and analysis, design findings, and recommendations to customers and management. Ensure standardization of products and adherence to engineering processes across multiple projects. Supports continuous improvement by offering input to standard processes and procedures. Leads and participates in cross-functional Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations. Provide engineering input and technical expertise and sound engineering judgement for failure investigation and for customer-returned hardware. LI- LD1

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 2 years of leading manufacturing engineering teams or projects
  • All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Davenport, IA to be considered.
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
  • BS degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience with following tools: Design for Manufacturability (DFM) practices, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing(GD&T), Process Failure Mode Analysis (PFMEA), Process Mapping, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) Process, Design of Experiments, ANOVA, Gage R & R.
  • Manufacturing Experience in a Union Environment
  • Experience with KPI (Key Performance Indicator) goals
  • Experience with Manufacturing Processes (Electrical, Chemical, and Mechanical Assembly, Fabrication, Welding, Paint, Solder, etc.)
  • Experience with Change Control Board, and Engineering Change processes.
  • Experience with AS9100, ISO9100, SAE, SME, ANSI, MIL-STD, Nadcap, BAC, IPC J-STD and other standards as related to International, Federal, State, Local, and Customer requirements.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Programs (ERP), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Capacity Resource Planning (CRP) such as SAP, Oracle
  • Experience with CAD software (PRO E, Creo, CATIA), CNC programming, PLC programming
