Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 8 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, project management, quality or related industrial environment or a Master’s degree and 5 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, project management, quality or related industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience identifying technological solutions to resolve business challenges.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma and LEAN.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineering degree (manufacturing/mechanical).
  • Github or Microsoft Projects proficiency.
  • Six Sigma Black or Green Belt / PMP Certifications / Agile Methodology.
  • Familiarity with gas-turbine engine construction and operation.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation for vibration, temperature, force, pressure, and flow measurements.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control.

Responsibilities

  • Own test transformation initiatives including CORE Continuous Improvement (CI) Days, COPQ (cost-of-poor-quality) projects, FPY (first pass-yield related projects at the Middletown Engine Center, and New Product Introduction such as the PW1900.
  • Lead test projects critical to improve test operational capability & quality performance to reduce troubleshooting times, test systems equipment failures, and first pass yield impacts associated with engine testing.
  • Identify & implement process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs / escapes and reduce overall product cost.
  • Work with Quality Engineers to perform root cause / corrective action investigations on quality escapes / turn backs.
  • Drive targeted process optimization activities through CORE tools such as CI Days and Macro Plans.
  • Work with PDC leadership across multiple disciplines to optimize project execution and ensure alignment across teams.
  • Support the project pipeline process to select, prioritize and scope projects to meet PDC business objectives.
  • Schedule and facilitate periodic project reviews with participation from key stakeholders.
  • Utilize project management tools such as GitHub or Microsoft Projects to track project schedules.
  • Represent PTE at PDC Monthly/Quarterly CABs (Corrective Action Board) and Collins Operational Excellence meeting.
  • Partner with PTE Product Leads to maintain excellent work relationships with MTU Munich/Hanover and PW Canada (PWC) assembly and test personnel and other Military Sustainment / Commercial Aftermarket teams.
  • Mentor Lean Six Sigma Green Belts with support from Engine Center Six Sigma Master Black Belt / Black Belts.
