About The Position

A healthier future. It’s what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love. That’s what makes us Genentech. As Principal Manager, Internal Communications within Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED), you will serve as both a strategic partner and hands-on communications lead, supporting two core functions: Development Science (DevSci) & Translational Medicine (TM). This is a dual-facing role that requires balancing the distinct needs, cultures, and leadership styles of two critical functions while also connecting their stories to gRED’s broader vision and to Roche and Genentech enterprise priorities. You will partner closely with the leadership teams of DevSci and TM to shape and co-create communication strategies that drive organizational clarity, scientific momentum, and employee engagement. At the same time, you will roll up your sleeves to deliver content, manage channels, and orchestrate events that bring those strategies to life. This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of two scientific organizations that together accelerate the path from research to medicine. You will have a seat at the table with senior leaders, helping to craft the narrative for how DevSci and TM contribute to gRED’s mission to revolutionize drug discovery and development.
