Step into Your New Role Kleinfelder is seeking a Principal Level Environmental Professional Engineer to work in our Sacramento, CA office! This is a key leadership position that will be supporting Sacramento Operations and long-standing contracts with key clients throughout Northern California. This management position will primarily focus on the growth of our staff through coaching and mentoring, while providing technical support to deliver and meet our clients' project needs. Chosen Candidate will: Manage projects and teams to: Drive project progress and decision-making for site assessment, remediation, and compliance projects across Northern California and the Central Valley. Interface with project stakeholders (clients, project owners, regulators, subject matter experts, etc.) to develop solutions that comply with relevant regulations and client-specific requirements. Establish a strong, productive internal collaborative relationships with senior management, and regularly work with Client Account Managers and Market Leads to support business growth though active participation in internal & external client facing sales calls/meetings and proposal efforts. Develop project proposals that establish scope, schedule, and budget for individual projects. Oversee or prepare project deliverables (e.g., workplans, investigation reports, remedy selection documents, or other project documentation) for site assessment and remediation projects. Where needed, support field execution of environmental or geotechnical projects, including logging boreholes, installation of monitoring wells, water well installation, aquifer testing analysis, soil, soil vapor, indoor air, or groundwater sampling, and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments. Prepare designs, reports, and calculations for simple to moderately complex environmental site assessments and remediation type projects (commercial, industrial, and educational facilities, levees, dams, pipelines, electrical towers, etc.) Prepare or review health and safety plans for safe execution of environmental projects Guide and mentor junior staff in their career growth and development. Manage and take responsibility for team member quality, work product, and performance. Seek learning and personal growth opportunities within a team environment This position will be a mix of office and field work. Individual must be capable of working collaboratively, taking direction and completing work with basic supervision. Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a proven talent to deliver and convey operational expectations.
  • Background in the development and implementation of strategies that improve performance and provide high-level leadership and support of the Remediation Team Business needs.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Be flexible to adapt to changing priorities and direction in a dynamic work environment. Have a "client service" mindset and work in close partnership with technical professionals.
  • Experience supervising or leading teams of project managers and technical professionals across the Environmental discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver and meet key business performance metrics
  • Minimum 12 years of related experience (15+ highly preferred) and 5+ years of project management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field
  • Hold a professional engineering license or be in active pursuit of an engineering license
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experienced in people management and project management.
  • Knowledge of project management systems, project scheduling, scoping, budgeting, cost analyses, resource analyses, and reporting
