We are looking for an experienced and passionate leader to manage our North America Security Operations, Executive Protection and Event Security. Okta is growing at an accelerated pace and we need a security professional who can develop, implement, and drive effective, scalable solutions that keep our offices secure and people safe, wherever they choose to work. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of managing corporate security programs at global scale, to include physical security operations, executive protection program management and event security; is effective at building relationships, influencing and inspiring change, and enjoys the challenge of working in a dynamic, diverse, and fast paced work environment.

  • Manage security and safety protocols at Okta offices across North America; leads Okta’s Executive Protection program; and, leads Okta’s corporate, global Event Security program.
  • Develop effective, written procedures with clearly defined and measurable controls.
  • Oversee contract guard force operations.
  • Provide planning guidance and risk mitigation support to Okta corporate and team events.
  • Manage security and safety controls that mitigate risk to Okta’s executive leadership.
  • Support development, planning and implementation of BCP and DR programs.
  • Develop and implement a training program that ensures optimal team proficiency.
  • Implement emergency response plans and ensure the guard force is trained, equipped and highly proficient in executing response protocols.
  • Develop actionable metrics that assess effectiveness of security controls and culture of security within the company.
  • Perform threat and vulnerability assessments, develop and implement corrective actions to upgrade the physical security of Okta’s North America offices.
  • Conduct investigations in partnership with Legal and People teams.
  • Manage cross-functional, global relationships and projects to ensure policy, process, and systems are aligned to meet the needs of the programs
  • Manage the annual operating budget.
  • Educate employees on physical security policy and standard methodologies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with appropriate law enforcement and private sector information sharing organizations.
  • Travel will be required both domestically and internationally.
  • Minimum 10+ years proven experience managing physical security operations, executive protection and event security in a corporate environment
  • Experience in physical access control system management and implementation
  • Experience in vendor management, contract negotiation and writing SoW’s.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace or similar applications. Must be proficient in formulas, charts, graphs, data import.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing technical projects.
  • Experience in building diverse, cohesive teams, and leading people.
  • Detailed oriented and a strong process developer/writer (Experience with Confluence preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare professional presentations suitable for executive level briefings.
