About The Position

The Principal at King Elementary School is responsible for leading all functions on campus and serving as the instructional leader. This role focuses on preparing students for college, career, and community leadership while ensuring high academic achievement for all students. The Principal will implement school improvement plans, promote equity in education, and foster a positive school culture.

Requirements

• Master's Degree with major emphasis in educational administration.
• Valid Nebraska teaching certificate with endorsement in administration for education.
• Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience in an urban school district.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Demonstrated evidence of proficiency in the OPS Principal Competencies.
• A record of success in leading adults and students.

Responsibilities

• Articulate clear expectations and hold self and others accountable for achieving high results for all students.
• Develop and implement school improvement plans to accomplish student achievement goals.
• Support teachers in engaging each student based on individual needs and interests.
• Address inequities and create urgency to close achievement gaps.
• Promote student mastery of standards through data-driven instruction and staff evaluation.
• Evaluate staff and provide coaching and actionable feedback to ensure growth in practice.
• Create a positive, safe, and respectful school culture that promotes learning and collaboration.
• Engage families as integral partners in their children's education.
• Collect and analyze data to inform decisions and solve problems effectively.
• Develop school systems and procedures to maximize instructional time.
