The Principal IT SAP Work Management Functional Analyst role is a critical position that involves the configuration, implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) modules, specifically focusing on Plant Maintenance and Project Systems. This position is based in Oakland, CA, and operates in a hybrid work environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, developing functional design documents, and customizing ERP systems to deliver comprehensive solutions that meet the needs of the organization. In this role, you will define standard processes in SAP S4, particularly focusing on design and estimation tools, and integrate these with graphical tools such as AUTOCAD Utility Design (AUD), OCalc Pro Pole Loading Software, and Heavybid Estimating Software. You will analyze complex business processes related to scheduling, dispatch, and field mobility across various business functional areas. Understanding and anticipating the business needs of the organization is crucial, as you will leverage existing and new SAP S4 HANA capabilities to effectively meet these needs. You will also propose and influence IT solutions for complex cross-organizational business problems using ERP capabilities, negotiating requirements and deliverables with multiple stakeholders. Evaluating existing system customizations and advocating for standard functionalities will be part of your responsibilities to minimize future implementation costs and total cost of ownership (TCO). Additionally, you will automate and optimize SAP work management processes through third-party ERP systems, map business requirements to SAP S4 system capabilities, and configure the system accordingly. Your role will involve reviewing design and technical specification documents to ensure alignment with business solutions, performing complex SAP S4 system configurations, conducting quality reviews, and overseeing testing activities. You will independently analyze and design solutions for complex projects within the SAP work management and plant maintenance modules, fostering a community that drives standard business processes in enterprise work management. Keeping up-to-date with industry knowledge of ERP systems and their future capabilities in work management and project systems is essential for success in this role.
