As a dynamic Database Architect of Database Management in Honeywell IT, you will have opportunity to support the large footprint of various database technologies and make a difference by establishing a solid foundation for innovation, performance, reliability, and scalability working on on-prem and public cloud solutions leveraging multiple database technologies. You will turn ideas into reality, with a focus on innovation and development of new technology. Passionate about technology and software, the ideal candidates must have extremely strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. You will directly support the database development & operations team to deliver a scalable and reliable data platform that supports Honeywell’s Digital Platform and Applications. You will represent Database Organization in Enterprise Architect Teams & work with Application Teams, Infrastructure Team, Security Team to deliver appropriate robust Database solutions.

Requirements

• YOU MUST HAVE Bachelor / Masters in Computer Science or equivalent work experience preferred
• 10+ years of experience in database development, Administration in Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra.
• Proven ability to develop architecture and provide design oversight that incorporates high availability, operations supportability and scalability to a high volume, rapidly growing world class business
• Must have a minimum of 8+ years of solid hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of database technology such as Oracle, ExaCC, Azure, Oracle OCI, and AWS.
• 8+ years of experience in database architecture
• Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL MongoDB and Cassandra
• Technical leadership in design, implementation and support of the core database services that are highly reliable, flexible, scalable and cost effective
• Must have minimum 5+ years of solid experience of Database Tuning
• Must have minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Database Platform including Governance Integration, Security and Operations
• Experience in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing and production support
• Experience in transforming to and from on premise environment to cloud technology
• Analytical experience with spreadsheet analysis, public presentations, and data management the ability to be a change agent and promote positive change in the organization
• Excellent oral, written and collaborative communication skills, including executive level communications
• The ability to partner effectively across IT teams, suppliers and business customers on cross-functional projects and process improvements

Responsibilities

• Strong expertise in Databases running on-premise and Cloud Infrastructure
• Initiate and collaborate on Database Automation activities to improve process efficiency and risk compliance
• Drive Stability initiatives by proactively reviewing and addressing Database performance and capacity trends
• Implement High Availability & Business Continuity Solutions for databases in Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, Mongo DB, PostgreSQL, Sybase and other open source databases
• Participate in Enterprise Architecture discussions and provide directions database technology
• Propose and guide database management team on roadmap and new initiatives
• Strong Performance tuning skills - Query level tuning / DB tuning / Memory level tuning
• Engage in high severity database issues impacting revenue applications working cross functionally across leads of infrastructure, network, and application teams
• Ensure centralized 24x7 Database Monitoring and Auditing Tools in place and effective in operation
• Risk and Control oversight of DB environment ensuring engagement with DB Security and Engineering teams
• Provide guidance to Operational Database Support teams to troubleshoot and investigate Business impacting performance issues on need basis.
• Apply technical expertise to strategize for current/future technological developments and serve as point of contact for technical questions
• Apply knowledge of concepts and procedures to resolve issues
• Create and maintain processes and documentation for various database activities including architecture, user access, user termination, DB creation, DB migration, DB security, Service Now knowledge etc.,
• Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements, evaluate controls to help mitigate negative outcomes through prevention, detection and correction
• Ensure regular motivation / guidance to the team by setting up 1-1, bits and bytes sessions on technology trends, create opportunities for career growth, and train the resources across various technologies
• Expertise in Database Monitoring, Backup, Replication, Auditing, Tuning, Partitioning, Compression solutions
• Database Migrations between Database Platforms, On-Prem to Cloud etc
• Strong Problem-Solving Skills
