About The Position

As a Principal on the Investment Grade team, you will play a leadership role in driving investment strategy, originating and executing transactions, and shaping portfolio construction within your sector. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership across equity, hybrid, and structured credit platforms, influencing decisions at every stage of the investment cycle.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of relevant experience, including significant tenure in investment banking, credit investing, or capital markets
  • Demonstrated track record of leading transactions and driving investment decisions across credit markets (public and/or private).
  • Deep expertise in credit analysis, financial modeling, and capital structure investing.
  • Strong commercial judgment with the ability to originate and evaluate complex investment opportunities.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior professionals in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and present investment views with conviction.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a rigorous work ethic.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (advanced degree a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Lead investment underwriting and execution across public and private credit opportunities within your sector, including new issuances, secondary market investments, and private origination.
  • Drive sector coverage strategy, developing differentiated views on industry trends, regulatory dynamics, and relative value across capital structures.
  • Own complex financial modeling, valuation, and capital structure analysis, providing actionable insights that inform investment decisions and portfolio positioning.
  • Lead investment committee process, including preparation and presentation of IC memoranda and materials, articulating key risks, return drivers, and strategic rationale.
  • Source and originate investment opportunities, leveraging industry relationships, market insights, and proactive thematic research.
  • Oversee portfolio construction and monitoring, ensuring risk is actively managed and performance is optimized across investments.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, providing guidance on analytical work, investment judgment, and professional development.
  • Partner cross-functionally with teams across the firm to evaluate opportunities spanning performing credit, private credit, and structured solutions.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders, including internal leadership and external partners, contributing to investor discussions and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead and contribute to broader platform initiatives, including thematic research, market outlooks, and firm-wide investment strategies.
