About The Position

Corporate Development is seeking inventive and engineering-obsessed technologists to relentlessly improve the evaluation and integration of acquisitions across Amazon. This Technical Program Manager (TPM) will contribute in every stage of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and build a strong community of technology leaders across Amazon and its subsidiaries. This includes 1) developing technical due diligence strategies with senior technology leaders across Amazon and AWS, 2) evaluating findings and associated risks with acquisition targets to inform and influence transaction stakeholders, and 3) partnering with acquisition sponsors to define essential technology integration tasks unique to the needs of every transaction. TPM also identifies common engineering integration problems and codifies learnings to apply on future acquisitions. Successful TPMs achieve scale through educating and enabling technical leaders at our acquisitions, while also leading active engagement with the broader subsidiary technical community. This requires perpetual invention and experimentation, with limited precedence or top-down prescriptive guidance. Success is ultimately measured through the achievements and productivity of our acquired teams and businesses. While excellent written and verbal communications are essential for any successful TPM at Amazon, they are mission-critical in this role to both 1) communicate upwards to VPs across Corp Dev and acquiring businesses to provide concise assessments of technical inputs supporting, or challenging specific acquisition rationale, and 2) lead newly acquired engineers and leaders by example through written communications to navigate cross-team collaboration and decision making.
