PRINCIPAL INNOVATION ENGINEER
About The Position
As the Research & Development Innovation Engineer within TE Connectivity's Energy business unit, you will lead our overhead product line global efforts to bridge our customer needs with new product development opportunities. This person will shape our technology and product responses through an outside-in approach to innovation with customer partnerships and advanced development execution. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for innovation. This position will be instrumental in identifying new product opportunities, defining technology roadmaps, and leading technological development activities to drive our company's future growth. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Master's degree, preferred)
- 12+ years' relevant experience in new product development, technology development & demonstration, and customer-facing or customer collaboration roles, including 5+ years deep knowledge of the utility, industrial and renewable industries
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and solve complex problems; innovation mindset
- Possesses high degree of initiative, technical competence, hands-on experience and engineering process knowledge
- Adapts/makes departures from traditional approaches to enhance value in both new and existing methods and products
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A professional level of business acumen

Responsibilities
- In conjunction with sales and product management, engage and partner with customer innovators and influencers to understand their challenges, their needs, the value they provide, and their future requirements
- Analyze emerging technologies to identify potential technology integration and product opportunities
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technology roadmaps
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine new product concepts
- Define, coordinate, and execute technology development projects in line with the technology roadmaps
- Stay current with industry developments, competitive landscape, end users' system architecture and industry standards
- Drives the spirit of innovation into the organization to design and launch differentiated products
- Aid in the transition of technologies and design concepts to the new product development team
- Present innovative concepts and technology development activities to both internal stakeholders and customers
