Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Principal I&C Designer for our San Diego, Los Angeles, Irvine and Concord California office(s).

Requirements

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree/technical certification
• 5 + years of industry experience drafting or creating I&C system design drawings 
• Proficient in AutoCAD design tools for drafting of I&C drawings including: P&IDs, control system architecture drawings, panel layouts and elevations, and wiring diagrams
• Experience in leading and coordinating I&C drawing production
• Strong verbal, writing and interpersonal skills are required for coordination with other disciplines and client interface

Responsibilities

• Candidate will develop I&C system designs for the water and wastewater industry with the potential for Human Machine Interface and Programmable Logic Controller programming/ configuration work
• Candidate will develop Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), control system architecture drawings, and installation details in AutoCAD Plant 3D 
• Candidate will prepare instrumentation and control system specifications as needed
• Candidate will work under the direct supervision of an engineer and be required to collaborate with engineers and designers from other disciplines
• Candidate will be required to conduct client site visits as needed
• Candidate will be required to perform AutoCAD Plant 3D drawing checks
