About The Position

The Principal HR Business Partner (PHRBP) is a senior, strategic leader who serves as a trusted advisor to leadership, business units and hiring managers, responsible for aligning people strategy with business objectives. This role operates at the highest level of HR partnership, acting as a proactive consultant, change leader, and talent strategist who drives organizational effectiveness, leadership capability and workforce performance at scale. The Principal HRBP also leads and influences enterprise-wide initiatives providing deep, consultative support to complex business units. The PHRBP operates with a high degree of autonomy and addresses critical business challenges. This role will play a pivotal role in partnering with the Senior Director, HR, in identifying opportunities to improve people operations, processes, and workflows. Leveraging tools such as ADP Lyric, the PHRBP will ensure operational efficiency and contribute to enhancing the associate and hiring manager experience. This role will also contribute by sharing best practices, mentoring and guiding other HR Business Partners on the team. This position reports directly to the Senior Director, Human Resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including supporting senior management and executive leaders.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with leadership teams in complex, fast-paced changing environments.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect people strategy to financial and operational outcomes.
  • 2+ years of experience mentoring and leading HR professionals.
  • Strong consultative and advisory skills with the ability to build trust, partner with, and influence leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders to align talent strategies with business goals and long-term growth plans.
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner and advisor providing strategic guidance on workforce planning, organizational design, leadership effectiveness, employee relations, development, and culture.
  • Translate the client’s business strategy into integrated and scalable people strategies that drive performance, results, engagement, and capability building.
  • Proactively identify organizational risks and opportunities and recommend forward-looking and timely solutions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop workforce plans, plan hiring needs and address critical gaps and issues.
  • Partner with the Centers of Excellence (Compensation, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, People Operations) and peers to ensure alignment, and efficiencies with delivering integrated solutions to the business.
  • Facilitate seamless and positive employee experiences throughout the employee life cycle.
  • Advise leaders on performance, succession planning and leadership development.
  • Drive talent planning, including workforce forecasting, capability building and critical value role identification.
  • Support development of high-potential leaders, development plans and coaching initiatives.
  • Partner with the Senior Director, HR, on complex change management initiatives including reorganizations, acquisitions and transformations.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve HRBP processes and ADP Lyric processes, workflows, and tools to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Leverage ADP Lyric and people analytics to inform decisions, build reports to diagnose organizational health, and to recommend action plans where needed.
  • Provide insights and recommendations using data-driven storytelling.
  • Track metrics, streamline data management, and automate routine tasks.
  • Partner with the Senior Director, HR to develop KPIs for the HRBP team.
  • Partner with the HRBP and HR team on the standardization of HRBP templates, tools, and scorecards.
  • Support the Senior Director, HR, on improvement initiatives, including developing strategies, implementation of new approaches, and supporting change management for the HRBP teams and key stakeholders.
  • Partner with leaders to address performance issues timely and effectively.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations issues and sensitive employee matters.
  • Conduct timely and objective investigations upon receipt of complaint.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies in partnership with Legal and HR COEs.
  • Mitigate organizational risk through proactive education on policy, employment law and effective communication.
  • Act as a mentor, coach and positive influence to HRBPs, providing guidance on complex employee matters, leadership development, and improved stakeholder management.
  • Lead knowledge-sharing sessions to upskill team members on best practices, tools, and market trends.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for complex or high-priority roles, assisting team members in resolving challenges.
