NG Space Systems – Propulsion Systems is currently seeking a Principal Hazard Analyst Engineer to support our Hazards Analysis team supporting several locations within the Propulsion Division, but home location would be the Promontory, UT facility.

  • Perform hazards analysis studies for Northrop Grumman Corporation.
  • Identify risk and establish safeguards to prevent ignition, injury, or damage.
  • Define necessary actions to negate the hazard or reduce risk to acceptable levels.
  • Work closely with Safety, Process, Tooling, and Design engineers and Operations.
  • Perform complex process safety and/or hazards analysis engineering assignments.
  • Function in a consulting role or have HA project leadership role in important design, development, and manufacturing projects.
  • Apply a physics-based approach to risk identification and mitigation.
  • Prepare/support Quantity/Distance analyses, concept, design and process hazards analyses.
  • Provide technical basis for safety waivers and regulatory interpretations.
  • Support and defend critical review of the analysis effort in all review forums.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related STEM area with 5 years experience.
  • Masters in Engineering, Physics, or related STEM area with 3 years experience.
  • Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, or related STEM area with 1 year of experience.
  • Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Well-organized, works effectively with little to no supervision.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to prepare and deliver briefings of technical information to all levels of management.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Physics.
