About The Position
The Vermilion Local School District seeks an enthusiastic leader to fill the important position of Vermilion High School Principal. The right candidate will build relationships with students, staff and community, provide visionary leadership, and employ instructional and organizational leadership skills to enhance the school's teaching and learning environment. The Vermilion Local School District possesses several key attributes that are foundational to its current and future success. Collaborative culture - The district employs teacher collaboration and leadership to accelerate our growth. From quarterly department meetings to a district-wide instructional rounds process, teacher leadership is a cornerstone of our culture. Safety & Security - The district has invested heavily in both safety and security infrastructure / technology and more importantly, in training for staff and students. Student and staff safety is our highest priority. Instructional focus - Student learning is why we exist, and our strategic focus on the three areas of the instructional core - teacher knowledge and skill, student engagement, and a rigorous, relevant curriculum - drives our improvement efforts. Curriculum investment - The district has committed significant resources to ensure our curriculum meets the needs of students as they prepare for their future, with K-12 curriculum mapping and alignment having been accomplished within the last 3 years. Technology - As a 1-to-1 computing district, our students and staff have considerable technology resources at their disposal. This includes CleverTouch interactive screens in all classrooms. Hiring practices - VLSD has invested heavily in training administrators to use research-based tools for candidate selection, something that will benefit not only our students, but also our incoming principal. Leadership team - VLSD possesses a supportive and collaborative administrative team with considerable experience.
