The Principal GN&C Engineer at Blue Canyon Technologies is responsible for the guidance, navigation, and control (GN&C) subsystems for multiple space missions. This role encompasses all program phases from new business development to on-orbit operations, focusing on the development of new capabilities and leading a team of engineers to ensure successful project execution.

  • Design, analyze, test, and deploy GN&C subsystems for small spacecraft.
  • Develop new GN&C technologies to support customer needs and strategic goals.
  • Lead a team of engineers on specific GN&C product lines and R&D efforts.
  • Help improve and implement GN&C system architectures for various product lines.
  • Lead the evolution of GN&C processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Participate in all mission phases including new business development and design reviews.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to younger engineers.
  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 12 or more years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of systems integration and testing experience with MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Experience with developing and running 6-DOF simulation environments.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on projects with small and large teams.
  • Experience with configuration management and issue tracking tools.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of spacecraft GN&C, including orbital mechanics and attitude dynamics.
  • Experience with C and Ruby programming languages.
  • Experience with Model Based Design and auto-coding.
  • Experience with simulator/hardware test development and execution.
  • Key industry-level expertise in autonomous vehicles GN&C.
  • Previous experience with orbital vehicles, especially small satellite GN&C.
