A Day in the Life As a Principal Financial Analyst in the R&D Finance Center of Excellence (CoE) supporting the Neuromodulation (NM) and Pelvic Health (PH) Operating Units, you will serve as a key finance partner, providing critical insight, analysis, and financial stewardship. You will be the primary contact for NM and PH OU finance, consolidating and presenting financial information to drive business decisions and telling the “financial story” behind the numbers. Additionally, you will act as the dedicated finance business partner for the NMPH Shared Core RTD team, supporting all aspects of financial planning and analysis—including headcount, expense, and capital planning. Your expertise will help drive process efficiency through automation and enhanced data structures within a complex, matrixed organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (Or Advanced Degree with 5+ years)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree or CPA/CMA preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, preferably in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Strong business partnering skills with a proven ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial planning (headcount, expense, capital) and reporting.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and process improvement.
  • Experience driving process efficiency through automation and data structure enhancements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial planning tools; experience with SAP, Power BI, OneStream, or similar systems preferred.
  • Experience in R&D finance or supporting research & development organizations.
  • Familiarity with Medtronic’s organizational structure, systems, and processes.
  • Knowledge of the medical device industry.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for NM and PH Operating Unit finance teams, consolidating and presenting financials with accuracy and insight.
  • Partner closely with the NMPH Shared Core RTD team as their dedicated finance business partner.
  • Lead headcount planning, expense forecasting, and capital planning for supported teams.
  • Deliver clear, concise financial analysis and storytelling to support business decisions.
  • Identify and drive opportunities for efficiency through automation and improved data structures.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within a complex, matrixed environment to align financial processes and reporting.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, proactively identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Support ad hoc analysis and projects as required.
