About The Position

This position is an onsite Centralized Field Engineering (CFE) Principal Specialist role supporting Advanced Sensor Programs (ASP), performing duties as part of a Field Team that interfaces with sensor users to provide long-term technical field support for complex electronic and electro-mechanical radar systems. The home location is Whidbey Island, WA. The ASP Field Operations program is an energetic, multi-disciplinary team of over 50 field support technicians working collaboratively with internal and external customers and programs to provide and support cutting-edge airborne radar systems capabilities to our nation’s warfighters around the world, and around the clock. This team is positioned at the tip of the spear, alongside the customer, providing direct support to ensure the warfighter has the most capable systems on the front line to meet the challenges our nation faces.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience. Experience in lieu of education option.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain Tier 5 (SCI) after start.
  • Experience in repair and maintenance of military electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience in system integration, logistics processes, and logistics procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) and Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA).
  • Experience with airborne radar systems.
  • Proficiency in navigating and executing commands within a UNIX environment and interpreting maintenance-related results.
  • Strong technical writing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in challenging environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development, maintenance, and sustainment of the sensor system.
  • Conduct daily reviews with customers.
  • Perform administrative tasks essential for system maintenance, including planning, coordination, task monitoring, shipping, receiving, packaging, and inventory management.
  • Utilize knowledge gained from and through field experiences to provide onsite technical support and assistance directly to customers when required.
  • Communicate technical information effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Collaborate with offsite engineering teams to troubleshoot and perform necessary repairs.
  • Travel OCONUS: Two (2) 75-day deployments per year.
  • Travel CONUS: Up to 40 days per year.
