About The Position

Westinghouse is seeking a Field Project Manager for its Specialty Welding & Machining business unit. This remote position, based out of Manning, SC, allows for work from anywhere in the United States. The role involves leading and managing projects primarily during plant outages, focusing on nuclear system components and piping repairs, including welding and machining activities. The Field Project Manager will oversee project management processes for medium-complexity projects or a portfolio of low-complexity projects, fostering a collaborative environment with small to medium-sized teams across various business units. Responsibilities include developing cost estimates, supporting customer negotiations, and ensuring project planning processes are completed effectively. The role also requires maintaining project schedules, tracking financials, and managing stakeholder communications to ensure successful project delivery. Occasional travel to WEC sites and customer locations may be required, including potential international travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Science, Construction Management, or a related technical degree.
  • 3 years of project management experience or 2 years of supervisory experience plus 2+ years of technical field experience.
  • 5+ years of applicable Project Management experience preferred, especially in Construction Management and nuclear projects.
  • Experience leading field-based projects at nuclear plants during outages.
  • Understanding of PMI's PMBOK and desire for PMP certification or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Experience with SAP, Primavera (P6), Microsoft Project, and Microsoft SharePoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management or Engineering preferred.
  • Experience managing highly technical engineering projects in a regulated industry.
  • Westinghouse PM qualification completed or in process.
  • Safety-First & First-Time Quality mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects during plant outages focusing on nuclear system components and piping repairs.
  • Oversee project management processes for medium-complexity projects or a portfolio of low-complexity projects.
  • Develop cost estimates and offers for field service projects in the nuclear power sector.
  • Complete project planning processes including authoring management plans, procedures, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure safe and quality project delivery during execution phases, maintaining schedules and tracking financials.
  • Archive work in financial, scheduling, and document management systems upon project closure.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with team members, customers, and stakeholders to facilitate project completion.
  • Identify and implement risk mitigation actions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Travel to WEC sites and customer locations for project execution as needed.
