About The Position

The Principal Facilities Engineer at Northrop Grumman is responsible for overseeing the construction, maintenance, and alteration of commercial and industrial facilities. This role involves daily communication with customers and the engineering team to determine project requirements, as well as planning and managing various engineering projects. The engineer will coordinate with stakeholders, prepare bid sheets, and ensure compliance with established specifications and budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of related technical engineering and field experience, OR a Master's degree in a STEM field & 3+ years of related technical engineering and field experience, OR a High School Diploma & 9+ years of related technical engineering and field experience.
  • Knowledge, skills, and technical expertise in facilities construction, operation, major maintenance, and/or renovation.
  • Experience in preparing statements of work, managing and tracking budgets, and effective communication with customers and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other field-related computer applications.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a facilities engineering field.
  • Experience working in a production/manufacturing campus environment.
  • Education or experience related to electrical and/or mechanical engineering.
  • Active Security Clearance.
  • AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Experience operating in a Union environment.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers and the Azusa facility engineering team to determine project requirements and scope of work.
  • Plan, design, review, manage, and oversee construction, reconfiguration, maintenance, repair, alteration, and commissioning of facilities and equipment.
  • Gather and review data concerning building specifications, applicable restrictions, schedules, and completion dates.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and architecture/engineering firms to develop design criteria and prepare layout and detail drawings.
  • Prepare bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisitions.
  • Update maintenance plans and drawings as needed.
  • Review and estimate design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, and other related costs.
  • Inspect or direct the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings and specifications.
