A Day in the Life You will plan, design, and oversee the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. You will ensure reliable, high performing building and equipment systems within a distribution center environment by leading controls reliability strategies, managing projects, and driving continuous improvement through data analysis and predictive maintenance initiatives. This role is based onsite at our Memphis Airways site • Plan, design, and oversee the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities • Prepare bid sheets and contracts for implementation • Review and estimate design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs • Manage projects and monitor installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules • Develop and execute a building controls reliability strategy for the distribution center and associated equipment • Program, test, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems and controls (including Allen Bradley and Beckhoff) • Diagnose system and equipment issues, replace parts as necessary, and perform testing and adjustments • Assess controls spare parts and make recommendations to support system reliability • Analyze machine and system data trends and propose improvements to increase overall performance • Implement predictive maintenance tools (vibration, temperature, and other technologies) and partner with the team to integrate them into maintenance processes • Monitor and optimize facility barcode and vision systems to maximize reliability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of Facilities/Automation experience OR advanced degree and 5+ years of experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution center high‑automation environment
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial controls platforms (Allen Bradley, Beckhoff)
  • Experience implementing predictive maintenance technologies
  • Familiarity with barcode, vision, and material handling systems
  • Project management experience supporting capital or facility projects

  • Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$124,000.00 - $186,000.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
  • The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California.
  • The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
  • Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
