Role Scope: We are hiring a Principal EPIC Trainer to support clinical and operational staff across multiple PACE centers. This role will lead end-user Epic training, optimize workflows, coordinate onboarding for new center staff, and support ongoing training needs for existing centers. The Principal EPIC Trainer will partner closely with Practice Operations, Center Leadership, Platform teams, Learning and Development, and subject matter experts to ensure staff are confident, efficient, and successful in using Epic to deliver high-quality care. The ideal candidate is an engaging educator, a creative workflow problem‑solver, and someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience as an Epic Trainer, Credentialed Trainer, Super User, or Epic‑focused educator (PACE or senior care experience preferred)
  • Must be able to travel around 50% to PACE centers.
  • Hands‑on experience with Epic clinical applications, ideally Epic Ambulatory and Compass Rose
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows in ambulatory or geriatric care settings
  • Comfortable working with staff at all levels—frontline clinicians, operators, and senior leaders
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build structure from ambiguity and adapt training to diverse learning styles
  • Strong documentation skills, including workflow diagrams, SOPs, tip sheets, and job aids
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, learning management systems, and virtual training technologies

Nice To Haves

  • Epic Credentialed Trainer (CT) or Epic certification
  • Experience in PACE, Medicare/Medicaid, or other highly regulated healthcare environments
  • Experience supporting multi‑site operations or rapid program expansion

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, live Epic training sessions for newly hired PACE staff across multiple disciplines (clinical, operational, day center, transportation, etc.)
  • Facilitate virtual and in-person training, onboarding, and small group role-based instruction tailored to PACE workflows
  • Assess learner readiness, identify training gaps, and adjust approach to ensure comprehension and successful adoption
  • Maintain training schedules, attendance records, and competency assessments
  • Partner with operational and clinical leaders to understand evolving center workflows and translate them into optimized Epic processes
  • Standardize workflows across centers where possible
  • Develop training materials, process documentation, quick guides, and workflow diagrams
  • Identify workflow friction points and collaborate with internal teams to improve usability, efficiency, and adoption
  • Work closely with new PACE centers to prepare training plans, deliver onboarding, and ensure smooth adoption of Epic at launch
  • Provide ongoing support to all existing centers, including refresher training, role specific coaching, and updates related to new features, upgrades, or workflow changes
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for Epic best practices in PACE care delivery
  • Partner with the Program Manager, Clinical Tools, to coordinate updates, scheduling, communications, and training impact tracking
  • Review ongoing functionality changes, enhancements, etc. from Epic vendor (OCHIN) and keep internal workflows up to date on the latest functionality
  • Participate in workflow validation sessions, user acceptance activities, and change management planning
  • Provide insights and feedback from frontline learners that inform system enhancements, content updates, and ongoing training program strategy
