About The Position

The position involves leading the development and optimization of SiC epitaxial growth processes, focusing on thickness and doping uniformity, as well as defect reduction through process tuning. The role also includes driving continuous improvement initiatives across epitaxy platforms, leading R&D projects, and facilitating seamless process transfer from R&D to production. Collaboration with substrate and epitaxy teams is essential to establish correlations and enhance Epi quality. The candidate will interface with external vendors to identify and implement solutions aligned with product timelines and performance goals. Additionally, the role requires preparing technical reports and presentations, contributing to external publications, and participating in conferences.

Requirements

  • PhD degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in SiC epitaxy, preferably in a semiconductor manufacturing or R&D environment.
  • Deep understanding of crystal defects and strategies for control in SiC epitaxy.
  • Experience with Epi reactor design and considerations.
  • Strong understanding of CVD reactor operations and epitaxial growth mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with process modeling and simulation tools.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis and design of experiment.
  • Knowledge of scientific principles and practice of characterization techniques such as C-V, optical characterization, x-ray characterization, thickness, doping, roughness, etc.
  • Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and optimization of SiC epitaxial growth processes, including thickness and doping uniformity and defect reduction through process tuning.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across epitaxy platforms.
  • Lead R&D projects and internal qualification efforts.
  • Facilitate seamless process transfer from R&D to production.
  • Collaborate with substrate and epitaxy teams to establish correlations and enhance Epi quality.
