The Impact You Will Have in This Role As a Principal Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering enterprise-wide technology and data solutions that drive innovation and efficiency across the organization. You will translate strategic business objectives—both long-term and short-term—into actionable designs and implementation plans for data strategy, architecture, and solutions. This role also defines corporate technology standards that align with enterprise goals and ensures that all product and project implementations conform to these standards. Collaboration with Infrastructure, Application Development, Information Security, and Product Management teams will be essential to deliver solutions that support the enterprise strategy.

  • Design and develop shared enterprise technology solutions and capabilities.
  • Create and document data solutions, including technical designs, standards, and guidelines for enterprise-wide adoption.
  • Participate in the design, specification, and implementation of business and technology projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and incorporating lessons learned.
  • Promote awareness and reuse of existing data capabilities to optimize efficiency.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of existing DTCC applications and technology solutions to leverage data design reuse and consolidate architectures.
  • Identify and research opportunities to converge diverse DTCC solutions into a unified data architecture.
  • Lead and foster collaboration across technology domains—Application Development, Infrastructure, Information Security, and Architecture—to ensure cohesive delivery.
  • Stay current on emerging data architecture concepts, methodologies, and technology trends.
  • Conduct presentations and training sessions to educate teams on data capabilities and solutions.
  • Minimum of 6–8 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of hands-on development experience with Java and Spring-based applications.
  • 3+ years of hands-on development experience with Apache Kafka.
  • Strong SQL expertise, including query optimization and handling large data volumes.
  • Solid knowledge of UNIX environments.
  • Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent grasp of distributed and cloud-based data technologies and analytics tools.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of technology and architecture trends.
  • Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience with Apache Camel.
  • Familiarity with containerization (OpenShift/OCP).
  • Exposure to AWS EC2 and cloud-based architectures.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake and modern data ingestion tools.
