Hazen and Sawyer is seeking applicants for a mid-level engineer for the planning, design, and construction administration for water/wastewater assignments. The preferred candidate will have the following qualifications and requirements.
Planning, design, and construction administration for water/wastewater assignments.
Preparing conceptual/feasibility studies.
Development of construction drawings and specifications.
Bidding assistance and support of office and field-related construction services.
Supervising junior staff and managing small projects.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an ABET accredited US University focusing on civil, mechanical, chemical, environmental engineering or construction management.
At least 5 years of experience in planning, design, or construction of water-related projects including pumping, piping, or treatment facilities.
Experience or course work in construction management, scheduling, and document control.
Good understanding of hydraulics and conveyance systems including gravity, low pressure, and vacuum systems.
Must be a PE or ability to obtain within 12 months.
Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience related to preparing conceptual/feasibility studies.
Familiarity with engineering and construction management software.
Preference to reside within Roanoke area or relocate within 6 months.
