About The Position

As a Principal Test Engineer you will manage the design, implementation, and oversight of comprehensive test strategies for greenfield projects across the world, with a focus on the verification and validation (V&V) of distributed control systems and related software. You will lead and direct a team of up to twelve members to ensure the successful achievement of project goals. You will report to the GOS Manager, Control & Information System Engineering and be located at the Cranberry, PA facility. This is a hybrid role based out of the Cranberry, PA office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear).
  • 7+ years of experience.
  • Experience leading test programs for large hardware and software projects.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and techniques.
  • Operate as part of a large global team and demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Understanding of control theory, plant processes, process dynamics, basic control, discrete control, and sequential control.
  • Awareness of field devices and control devices typical of the power industry is required.
  • Awareness of typical industry standard drawings including P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, cabinet drawings and panel layouts is required.
  • Experience with test automation and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and execution of hardware and software testing, including functional, integration, and system-level tests for large-scale distributed control systems.
  • Work with multiple teams including the hardware, software, and test teams to guarantee an integrated design that meets all requirements.
  • Guide the development and use of control system platform standards.
  • Develop test plans and procedures for industrial control systems by analyzing requirements and reviewing customer-provided design input.
  • Lead the development of control system platform test standards.
