Northrop Grumman Space Systems-Launch and Missile Defense Systems provides an excellent opportunity for a Principal Engineer Test - SW Test Engineer (25-404) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This position, based in Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL, plays a critical role in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels. This position does not offer relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.

  • Support the Regional Apps cross-functional product teams in Colorado in developing and expanding the suite of automated tests run within the software development CI/CD pipelines during software development and upgrades.
  • Participate in agile planning and execution activities.
  • Develop automated test plug-ins for integration into the software development pipelines of a mature, software-intensive system.
  • Use DoD test methodologies and analyze results from automated tests to recommend updates to the software under test.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree (preferred) in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree.
  • Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application.
  • A current active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.), at the time of application, is required to start.
  • Ability to develop plug-ins for testing in Java, C++, or Fortran software and incorporate them into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with software development within an Agile framework.
  • User interface development, messages and external interfaces, simulation of MDS systems, planning tool development.
  • Prior experience developing automated tests for software-intensive systems operating in classified environments.
